It’s hard to believe that yet another Flashback Weekend is upon us once again, with the longest-running horror convention in Chicago set to take over the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare (5440 N. River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018) from Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 4th. This year's festivities look to be a stellar time for genre fans, with a cavalcade of notable guests descending upon the three-day event. If you happened to miss our previous coverage of the various talent announcements for Flashback (you can check them out HERE), for this year’s convention, Bruce Campbell is returning to Chicago and will be reuniting with both Sam and Ted Raimi to celebrate all things Evil Dead.
Flashback Weekend will be playing host to a Night of the Creeps Reunion on Saturday evening with director Fred Dekker, co-stars Tom Atkins, Jason Lively, Jill Whitlow, Steve Marshall, Allan Kayser, Ken Heron, and Robert Kurtzman (who also worked on the film’s effects) in attendance. And for you Candyman fans out there, you’re not going to want to miss out on seeing both Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen, who will be appearing all weekend.
FBW will also be celebrating both A Nightmare on Elm Street and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: Dream Master over the weekend with Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Lisa Wilcox, Tuesday Knight, Brooke Theiss, and Toy Newkirk in attendance. And for those of you Svengoolie fans out there, the legendary horror host is being feted on Friday night after 40 years of appearing on the small screen.
