Evil Dead Will Arrive In Theaters One Week Earlier

Bruce Campbell has tweeted that the Evil Dead remake will be released a week earlier than expected. The new launch date is 4/5/2013.

Evil Dead Slapped with NC-17 Rating; Filmmakers Recut to Get an R Rating

The last twenty-five minutes of Evil Dead takes place in a torrential rainstorm of blood that falls from the sky. Its possibly the most fake blood ever used in a film. When the MPAA saw the first cut of this remake from director Fede Alvarez, they slapped it with the inevitable NC-17.

Fede confirmed this, explaining that the film has to be recut to get an R rating. So far, we know that the film includes multiple scenes of body mutilation, animal torture, and a bloody rape sequence as seen in the Sam Raimi original. It is not known how much of these gory story elements are being pulled back, or what is being edited.

SXSW 2013 Announces Evil Dead World Premiere

Book Of The Dead Visits The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 Filming Locations

Rob, from BookOfTheDead.ws, has uploaded over 45 minutes of camcorder footage from a recent trip he made to The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 shooting locations. The location footage Rob uploaded has been edited from over 4 hours of raw video and includes The Evil Dead cabin location, footage of the cabin exterior built for Evil Dead 2 and 7 other related locations. Rob made his trip to these locations in early December 2012. A DVD for the fans is in the works and will probably come out sometime after April 2013, when one final shooting location has been filmed.
