The rubberfaced (in his own words) Ted Raimi is one of our favorite supporting actors. We talked to him about working in horror, being a cult movie star, and working along side Larry Drake, Harrison Ford, Lucy Lawless and Bruce Campbell!

Flashback Weekend Announces the Legendary Bruce Campbell as its First Guest for 2019 Convention

Heather Wixson writes:

It may be nearly 10 months away, but Flashback Weekend is already starting to put together their lineup for the 2019 convention next August. The first announced guest for next year’s festivities is none other than “The Chin” himself, the legendary Bruce Campbell. The last time Campbell headed to the Windy City for Flashback Weekend to be a part of the longest-running horror convention was back in 2005 (which this writer remembers, as she was an attendee that year), so having Bruce Campbell back in 2019 is an amazing way to kick off my excitement for what’s to come for next year’s Flashback Weekend.

Q&A with Bruce Campbell: He’ll host his ‘Last Fan Standing’ at ECON on Saturday

Excerpt:

RG: What do you think it is about you that has built such a loyal fanbase, especially with the “Evil Dead?”

BC: Just relatable characters. You’ve got to have a character people will relate to. There’s some actors who will remain nameless who — they don’t let you in. Their performance won’t let you into their world. They’re putting up a sheen. And I think it’s all fine and pretty to look at, but you know, you got to have more. There’s got to be more to it, even an idiot like Ash. You’ve got to have more to it. That’s why we introduced Ash’s daughter. We meet his family, we start to play on a little bit bigger reason why he’s here, what his purpose is. When you look at someone on screen I think you want to go, “Wow, God, I’d love to have a beer with that guy,” or if it’s a woman, “Man, what a great girlfriend she would be.” Stuff like that. It’s just a personal thing too, and every actor evolves into whoever they are by a certain set of circumstances. Some good, some bad.

Director Fede Alvarez Just Gave an Interesting Response When Asked if His ‘Evil Dead’ is a Remake

For years, horror fans have debated whether Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead II is technically a sequel or actually a remake – for what it’s worth, Bruce Campbell himself recently called it a “requel,” while we’d simply call it, well, a clear cut sequel – and interestingly enough, fans have also spent several years now debating the very same thing about Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead.

Middle of Beyond Brings New ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Halloween’ Glass Ornaments to Your Christmas Tree

A handful of new horror-themed ornaments are headed our way this holiday season, including a line of horror icon ornaments from Trick or Treat Studios and “Stranger Things” ornaments from Funko. Middle of Beyond has also unleashed a few new horror ornaments, available now.

What sets Middle of Beyond ornaments apart from the pack is that they’re actually made of blown glass, with Evil Dead II and Halloween ornaments added to their collection this year. The former film is represented by Ash’s chainsaw hand and the infamous Book of the Dead, while the latter is represented by Michael Myers’ blood-splattered kitchen knife.

The three of these are selling for $19.99 each, and they’re just a few of the many blown glass ornaments Middle of Beyond offers up. They also have Krampus and Madballs ornaments!

Evil Dead 2 & Don't Breathe 2 Updates Arrive from Director Fede Alvarez [Exclusive]

From movieweb.com:

Fede Alvarez has provided us with an update on the status of Evil Dead 2. The filmmaker revived the classic Sam Raimi franchise for modern audiences on the big screen in 2013 with a well-received remake that did quite well at the box office. We've been waiting for a sequel ever since and now Alvarez reveals that it may still happen, but it may wind up being without him in the director's chair.
