Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Leak Hints at Ash from Evil Dead

With the base Mortal Kombat 11 characters solidly established via a leak of the character select screen from earlier this week, some players may now have turned their attention to what guest fighters will be introduced through post-launch DLC. While only one such DLC character has been officially announced in Shang Tsung, a Mortal Kombat 11 DLC leak from yesterday seems to have revealed eight more, one of which may be of particular interest.

Specifically, this new Mortal Kombat 11 leak references “Ash,” which seems very likely to be Ash J. Williams, the protagonist from the highly revered The Evil Dead franchise. For some fans, Ash, and Bruce Campbell’s portrayal of him, is a true standout in the horror genre, and his inclusion in NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming fighting game would certainly be embraced by many.

In fact, fans have been clamoring for Ash as a guest character in Mortal Kombat 11 for months. This desire has materialized not only as numerous posts in community forums like the Mortal Kombat subreddit calling for his inclusion, but there have also been several petitions initiated as well.

As such, if the new leak is to be believed, then it seems that NetherRealm has heard the cries of its fans and have answered accordingly. Of course, many will be skeptical of this new leak, and rightfully so. However, this one does seem to have legs.

Screen Gems Picks Up Bride Horror Thriller With Sam Raimi Producing (Exclusive)

Blair Butler, who wrote 'Hell Fest,' will write the script, which will also be produced by Emile Gladstone and Robert Tapert.

This bride won’t be wearing white.

Screen Gems has picked up an untitled horror pitch centering on a bride, with Blair Butler, the writer behind Hell Fest, on board to pen the script.

Emile Gladstone, one of the producers behind the upcoming horror thriller The Curse of La Llorona, will produce the project along with Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert, the horror vets whose Ghost House Pictures banner counts Don’t Breathe, Drag Me to Hell and Evil Dead among its credits.

Plot details are being kept under a veil of secrecy, but the project is known to be a supernatural thriller that tells of a young woman who is invited to a lavish destination wedding, unaware of the horrors that await.

Butler is a rare female voice in the horror sphere who rose through the ranks on such geek fare as Attack of the Show! She wrote Hell Fest, CBS Films’ 2018 slasher movie set in an amusement park, and also wrote Polaroid, a thriller featuring a vintage Polaroid camera with a deadly secret.

Butler is currently in development with Bad Robot and Paramount on The Steps, which is described as a twist on the possession genre. Stefan Grube, who had previously served as an editor on the Bad Robot sci-fi thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane, is attached to direct.

Butler is repped by ICM Partners, Industry Entertainment and Lichter Grossman.

Epic Art Pits Bruce Campbell’s Characters Against Each Other in a Bloody Battle to the Death

Artist JJ Harrison recently kicked off a series of bloody-as-hell “Self Destructs” art pieces, first pitting the many different versions of Jason Voorhees up against one another and then bringing together every version of Michael Myers for another epic battle.

Up next, Harrison gets groovy.

The latest “Self Destructs” piece from Harrison is dedicated to the many characters Bruce Campbell has played over the years, from Evil Dead to Bubba Ho-Tep, “The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.” to “Burn Notice.” As always, the piece is incredibly gory, with Ash Williams slicing Ronald Reagan in half with a chainsaw and Sam Axe blowing out Evil Ash’s brains.

Now this is our kind of shared universe!

How ‘Dead by Daylight’ Broke the Rules for ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’

More than a million people play a couple of matches of “Dead by Daylight” every month, and soon they’ll have a new survivor to toy with: Ash Williams from the “Evil Dead” movie and TV franchises.

In “Dead by Daylight” players take on the roles of one of a group or survivors or the match’s sole killer in a deadly game of cat and mouse. The survivors run and hide, trying to piece together their escape plan before it’s too late. The killer simply has to find the survivors, kill, and sacrifice them before the time runs out.

While the game is packed with a horror-fest’s worth of famed killers — including Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Mike Myers — it’s always wanted and been missing one name long associated with horror: Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams.

“We’ve been wanting Ash in the game for a long time,” said “Dead by Daylight’s” producer Mathieu Côté. “Iconic killers are easy to find, there’s a long list of iconic horror icons, but survivors are kind of rare because you have to find the right mix of hero, but also a victim to a certain extent. And he hit all the right notes. So for us, he was a good fit from the start.”

Bruce Campbell Revives Evil Dead’s Ash for Dead by Daylight

Apparently, the people over at Behaviour Interactive are determined to make every day Halloween. Recently they announced that as of the 2nd of April you will be able to use the wit, cunning and sweet sugary one liners of the one and only Ash from the Evil Dead franchise with the Ash vs Evil Dead DLC.

This alone would be great news for fans of the game, though not entirely a surprise as players with a keen eye were able to decipher some of the new perks from the recent Demise of the Faithful DLC that relate to Ash. The real kicker here though is that this new playable character is fully voiced by Bruce Campbell himself.

Here's a first look at Ripley's new Travel Channel show based in Orlando

Ripley Entertainment is known for their wild and wacky exhibits at their "odditoriums," but the Orlando-based company is far more than just a collection of unique museums. The global brand has more than 100 attractions in nearly a dozen countries and sees more than 14 million guests per year.

Despite this, one of the most recognized parts of the company remains the television series that founder Robert Ripley began in 1949 (Ripley abruptly died shortly after filming unlucky episode 13 of the original series on which he had discussed funerals). Since then two remakes and an animated version have all been created. Now, 16 years after the last Ripley's show stopped production, a new series is about to debut.

Horror icon Bruce Campbell will host the upcoming "Ripley's Believe It or Not" series on the Travel Channel. Campbell, known for his role as Ash Williams in the Evil Dead franchise and his lead role in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., has extensive acting resume that includes Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Burn Notice, Lodge 49, Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat and Ash vs. Evil Dead where he reprised his role as Ash Williams.

"As an actor, I've always been drawn toward material that is more 'fantastic' in nature, so I was eager and excited to partner with Travel Channel and Ripley's Believe It or Not! on this new show," Campbell said. "And because amazing things happen all around the world, we should have no shortage of unbelievable stories to share with a fresh new audience."
