Bruce Campbell Teases “Upcoming Incarnations” of the ‘Evil Dead’ Franchise

Just last week, Bruce Campbell gave his blessing to the Evil Dead franchise continuing without him, noting on Twitter that there are still “lots of unexplored stories and crossovers in the Evil Dead universe.” Add to this that producer Rob Tapert also recently noted that he and Sam Raimi are discussing the future of the franchise and it would seem that Evil Dead is most definitely going to soon continue… likely without Bruce Campbell’s Ash. But would Bruce be up for reprising the role in, say, a video game?!

On Twitter, 1428 Elm‘s Susan Leighton just asked Campbell if he’d be open to doing motion capture and voice work on a new Evil Dead game, and he gave an interesting reply…
“Fans are wonderfully nit-picky,” Campbell wrote. “I can’t talk particulars yet, but I think fans will dig the upcoming incarnations.”
This comment suggests that “upcoming incarnations” of the franchise are being actively developed, and it’s interesting to note that Campbell doesn’t shoot down the possibility of perhaps playing Ash again in something other than a movie or TV show. Could we see a new video game? A sequel to the remake? At this point, anything is possible.

And we can be pretty sure that it won’t be too long before Evil Dead returns…
