Starz Renews ‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’ For Third Season – NY Comic-Con

EXCLUSIVE: It looks like the world is going to get more Bruce Campbell as Starz has greenlighted a third season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. The 10-episode Season 3 is set to debut around next fall, I hear.

The news comes just five days after the second season of the series from EPs Campbell, Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Craig DiGregorio debuted on the cable net. It also comes one day after Ash vs. Evil Dead appeared at New York Comic-Con in the Hammerstein Ballroom. That panel featured the ever-loquacious Campbell, who plays Ash Williams in the series and the original Evil Dead movies, plus co-star Lucy Lawless. Fellow cast members Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, Ted Raimi and Lee Majors, who debuted as Ash’s father in S2 of the series.

On a very competitive Sunday, the Season 2 debut of Ash pulled in 733,000 viewers over all its airings that night. That’s a 14% uptick over the Season 1 premiere on the Saturday of October 31, 2015. Among adults 18-49, Ash was up an impressive 63% over the S1 opener.

Season 2 of the series found Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There, he confronts Ruby (Lawless), and the former enemies must form an uneasy alliance as the town becomes the nucleus of evil. “There are more nozzles, this year, on the blood-delivery stem,” Campbell quipped about S2 during the  Ash vs. Evil Dead TCA panel in August. “They can do a wider spread of blood.”
