Here’s a trend worth noting: When theatergoers see gore onstage, it’s usually there to make them laugh. Indeed, the more blood, the bigger the laughs.
Which brings us to the Egads Theatre production of “Evil Dead: The Musical,” which opens Friday at the Off Center Theatre on the third level of Crown Center. This will be the second production this year of the campy show based on the Sam Raimi films from the 1980s. The first one, staged by Padgett Productions at Union Station, didn’t use quite enough blood.
Director Steven Eubank said that shouldn’t be a problem this time around.
