Sam Raimi chooses his next projects - Den of Geek

As well as Oz, The Great and the Powerful, Sam Raimi has now signed up to helm Earp: Saints For Sinners too…

Ever since he left Spider-Man 4, there's been much speculation about which movie Sam Raimi would move on to direct instead. He's taken his time in choosing, having been strongly linked with the planned World Of Warcraft film over the past few months, but Raimi has now made his choices.

First up, he's down to helm Oz, The Great And The Powerful, which we found out about earlier this year. This is the Disney movie that's being billed as a pseudo-prequel to The Wizard Of Oz, and production on that is going to come first.

However, it seems that Raimi has chosen his project after that, too. For The Hollywood Reporter is saying that he's signed on the dotted line to direct Earp: Saints For Sinners, a comic book adaptation that takes the guts of the Wyatt Earp story and moves it into the future. Thus, Earp will be fighting outlaws, with the only town left of note being Las Vegas.

The full details of the project are to be unveiled at Comic-Con later this week.

For now, here's the story at The Hollywood Reporter.
