Kassie DePaiva, known to Days of our Lives fans for her Daytime Emmy-nominated turn as Eve Donovan, and Wally Kurth, who plays Justin Kiriakis, recently wrapped production on a new film titled “Common as Red Hair.” Robbie Robertson wrote and directed the movie, which delves into the story of two parents who need to make a difficult decision.
Boston College welcomed legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi to campus last week to speak to students interested in a career in filmmaking. As director of the first Spiderman trilogy, The Darkman, and the screenwriter and director of the Evil Dead franchise, Raimi's presence at BC was monumental. Celeste Wells, associate professor of the BC Communication department, moderated the event, one which required an invitation and student “bouncers” at both doors in order to preserve the event’s exclusivity.
The team behind Evil Dead: The Game continues to tease this month’s upcoming “Hail to the King” update, which will include new outfits, a new character, and a new mission.
We’ve learned this afternoon that the “Hail to the King” update goes live on October 27, and it will also include three Premium Outfits based on Army of Darkness.
“Suit up with Ash’s Sellsword, Henry the Red’s Red Pikeman, and Lord Arthur’s Rightful King outfits, and lay down some medieval justice to the Kandarian Demon and its minions.”

The “Hail to the King” update is making its way into Evil Dead: The Game this month, bringing the Blacksmith from Army of Darkness and a new single-player mission along with it.
Additionally, we’ve learned today that Ash is getting a special Halloween outfit as part of this next update, one that puts him in a wonderfully silly Devil costume for spooky season!

Epic Games has revealed this year’s FortniteMares event for Fortnite, which kicks off today. And for Evil Dead fans, Ash Williams will be the latest to make the crossover to Fortnite!
The trailer for the event, which focuses on players being able to turn into werewolves, featured a brief shot of Ash. Noted Fornite leakers such as HypeX have delved further into the update, which confirmed that Ash will be in the game, along with several Evil Dead-related cosmetics.
Ash will be bringing the following into Fortnite:
- His iconic chainsaw, which doubles as a Pickaxe
- A holstered shotgun as Back Bling
- Necronomicon
- An Evil Dead-themed Loading Screen
Announced last week, the Blacksmith from Army of Darkness will soon be a playable character in Evil Dead: The Game, and today we know a bit more about this next DLC update.
It’s being called the “Hail to the King” update, and in addition to the Blacksmith we’re also getting a brand new single-player mission that’s also based on Army of Darkness!
