‘The Evil Dead’: NECA Previews Upcoming 40th Anniversary Action Figure of a Young Bruce Campbell!

Originally teased back in February, NECA will soon be releasing an Ash Williams action figure that pays tribute to Sam Raimi’s original The Evil Dead, which is notable considering previous Ash figures were always based on the sequels and, more recently, the TV series.

Yes, we’re finally getting a 1981 Ash from NECA, and NECA has taken to social media today to show off another sneak peek that gives us our first look at the brand new head sculpt.

The Evil Dead turns 40 years old here in 2021, and it looks like the figure will come with a slew of accessories including an axe, shotgun, chainsaw, lantern and tape recorder.

Bruce Campbell on Wednesday went full Ash Williams after the British Board of Film Classification shared a story about its rating history for his iconic horror film, The Evil Dead.

Production continues on Evil Dead Rise, the latest entry in the long-running horror franchise, and director Lee Cronin has taken to social media to offer another gnarly tease of the film. Evil Dead Reboot Director Addresses Status of His Planned Sequel

"There is definitely a chance [of a follow-up]. The problem is, we have to stop saying there is a chance, because then there's a headline the next day, 'There's a new movie coming!' and, no!" Alvarez joked to ComicBook.com. "This is what I can tell [you]: [producer] Rob Tapert and [director] Sam Raimi, we're like family. We get together once in a while, we had a great experience making that movie, they gave us a career in this business. We always discuss that and there was some discussion very early on about a sequel and we haven't gotten to write it, we never wrote a script, but we knew where it was gonna go and, at that point, for some reason, it didn't happen. And now it went [the Evil Dead Rise] route."
