Bruce Gets Bloody for Exclusive New “Ash vs. Evil Dead” Toy

From bloody-disgusting.com:

The world is not that terrible of a place when you consider that you can walk into Toys R Us and walk out with a Bruce Campbell toy under your arm. I did just that the other day, when I found Funko’s recently released “Ash vs. Evil Dead” POP! vinyl toys at my local store. The first wave included Ash, Pablo, Kelly and Ruby, and a new exclusive variant was just unveiled.

Exclusively available through Entertainment Earth and set to begin shipping in April, the variant Ash POP! toy is splattered with blood, presumably from a recent encounter with a Deadite. Just like the standard version of the toy, Ash is carrying his boomstick and he’s rocking his chainsaw hand. Actually, it’s the same exact toy as the one already released… only way bloodier.

'Making of' video shows how Resident Evil 7 looked to The Evil Dead for inspiration

Resident Evil 7 wasn't always going to be quite as ambitious as it is, according to a new ‘making of’ video, embedded above. Its T-virus-style mutation was kicked off by game's executive producer, Jun Tekeuchi. He wanted to switch to first-person and transport the game to a setting they hadn’t touched on before, leaving behind boulder punching meatheads for something more grounded.

While gameplay - despite the perspective shift - was inspired by the original games, that new setting, a dilapidated house in the boondocks, was influenced by another horror classic: The Evil Dead.

Bruce Campbell Announces New Book And Tour! HAIL TO THE CHIN!

Rob Galluzzo writes:

Groovy.

I still remember catching Bruce Campbell during his very first book tour for IF CHINS COULD KILL at a Long Island book store way out in Huntington. The Q & A session that preceded the actual signing was basically like sitting in on an hour long comedy set. Bruce was on fire, and answered every question with the same fierce honesty and gusto you’d find within the pages of that book. A few years later, he wrote a second novel, MAKE LOVE THE BRUCE CAMPBELL WAY, which unlike its predecessor, was more of a comedic farce involving Bruce getting cast in a big budget Mike Nichols movie and interacting with celebrities like Richard Gere and Renée Zellweger.

Now, he’s going back to the basics and filling us in on what’s been going on in his professional life since that first autobiography came out. Arriving this August 15th, 2017 (just in time for my birthday!) is HAIL TO THE CHIN: FURTHER CONFESSIONS OF A B-MOVIE ACTOR.

Going on sale this Thursday, March 9th at 5:00pm ET, Part 1 of Cavity Colors' new Evil Dead 2 collection pays tribute to both Ash and the Deadites he faced (including himself) with new enamel pins ($13 apiece), a wax candle, and a turntable slipmat ($20).

In Honor of Ash Wednesday, You Should Watch ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead

From decider.com:

Typically when people think of Ash Wednesday, fasting and religious solemnity come to mind. However, here at Decider we’re a little too pop culture-focused for our own good. As you’re looking forward to Easter (or thinking regretfully about all the food you’ve given up for the next 40 days), take a moment to appreciate one of pop culture’s greatest Ashes — Evil Dead‘s Ash Williams.
