The DO - Ivan Raimi | From the ER to Oz: DO screenwriter splits time between Michigan, Hollywood
Ivan M. Raimi, DO, has a unique way of staving off physician burnout—spending days on end holed up in his brother’s Los Angeles apartment crafting stories about demons, zombies, projectile nosebleeds and early-20th-century carnivals. Dr. Raimi and his brother, director Sam Raimi, have been writing screenplays together since their teenage years, and their efforts have yielded some high-profile, high-grossing films such as Spider-Man 3, Drag Me to Hell, Army of Darkness and Darkman.

Bruce Campbell: 'I Can't Imagine What's Next!' | ETonline.com
Interview excerpt:
ETonline: You're also producing 2013's Evil Dead remake. The red band trailer was incredibly graphic and amazing. How are you feeling about it?
Campbell: That [trailer] is not false advertising. You're going to get more of that and you'll be sad and glad you got it. We've now shown it to an audience and the good news about the movie is when the lights come up, everybody's smiling. They're really energized by it. We're excited as hell.
ETonline: Is it a direct remake or more of a reimagining?
Campbell: It's my comfortable old shoe analogy. There will be many elements that are familiar – a cabin, a book, five kids, they unleash an ancient demon and are pretty sorry about it.
ETonline: There's no character named Ash in the remake, did you insist on that?
Campbell: Very much so. I don't want some actor to have to imitate what I did. Let them do their own thing, create their own characters. I think the explanation of going to this cabin is more sound this time around. The movie is really astute. We want to deliver a creepy, scary story in a way that might actually have more impact than the first one. This isn't a digital extravaganza – it's an old fashion monster movie with prosthetic makeup.

Hail to the King Baby… Army of Darkness Defense hits Google Play
If you are a horror movie aficionado you’ve no doubt seen both Evil Dead movies. Army of Darkness Defense is a new Android Game from Backflip Studios that drops you into the medieval world of Army of Darkness. Yes, we now have an ‘official’ Evil Dead Android game and the news makes me feel a little like Linda Richman to be honest. It’s okay, I’m just a little verklempt… talk amongst yourselves…
Army of Darkness Defense follows the storyline of the movie which means you get to play as Ash and yes he brought his boomstick along. The game picks up after Ash has been dropped into 1300 AD and you’ll have to help him defend Lord Arthur’s castle and the Necronomicon. Enemies will come at you in waves, but you’ll get to use your trusty boomstick to send them back from whence they came. You’ll also get to summon allies to your aid, and you’ll need them if you plan on surviving all 50 waves. Army of Darkness Defense offers up more than 100 quotes from the flick, several special abilities (88’ deathcoaster included) and you get to meet up with all sorts of folks from the film including Sheila, the Wiseman, and Evil Ash.
