Commemorating the 30th anniversary, the much-acclaimed 1987 film “Evil Dead 2,” directed by American filmmaker Sam Raimi, will be screened at the Prince Charles Cinema, London.
Starring Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry, and Dan Hicks, “Evil Dead 2” the second of the three series of films, is in portions horror, partly comic, with Ash Williams yet again struggling against atrocious imps at an isolated chalet in the thickets. On finding out an audio tape put away by a college professor that comprises of voices reading from the Book of the Dead, Ash’s girlfriend Linda comes to be possessed by mischievous sprites that wake up by the voices on the tape. Ash, before long, learns there is no fleeing the woods.
A skillful actor, director, producer, and screenwriter, Sam Raimi, is widely popular for most of his compositions, especially for directing the original Spider-Man trilogy (2002-07) and the 1990 superhero film "Darkman." Back in 1979, he established his own production company Renaissance Pictures. His most recent work is the 2013 Disney fantasy film "Oz the Great and Powerful."
